One of my favorite Jane's songs! That was awesome. And Soul Asylum to boot. Great show, Brian. I love summer! (And I hope we get another episode of Surferville before it's over.)
I don't like to be picky, but "Long Hot Summer" was released in 1983 not 1984. I'd be interested to know what basis they included it in a 1984 album. Same goes for "Bad Connection" from the same album, a cover of the 1982 Yazoo song from "Upstairs at Erics".
I was also pretty shocked to hear my absolute favourite 1980's singer produce such an absolute "Rowlandesque" Stinker. Paul, where did it all go wrong?!

Hey Brian,
Glad to see that you were able to stay away from the Type O Negative cover of Summer Breeze. The Isley's version fits better with the rest of this show!
I love that you played Dirt Bike Annie, one of my late-90s favorites. You may be interested (if you can find it, if not let me know) in their 2000 4-song CD "Dirt Bike Annie Plays the Hits of the 60s, 70s, and 80s", which includes covers of "Debaser", "I Won't Fall In Love Today", "Knock On Wood", and "Warrior".

I thought the Paul song was fantabulous myself…to each his own, I guess!

I'm way behind and catching up….
