It was really weird to hear a Bowie pop song without drums. Given the coffee shop nature of this cover, even some hippy-ish bongos or congas might have been cool. Still, I enjoyed it.
In fact, I was initially disappointed in these selections because the ones I didn't like, I really didn't like. Then I looked back and realized that the others that I did like were almost all 10-star worthy. Not such a bad lineup after all.
Modern Love really needs its drums…
