Great choices, but ... (there's always a but, right?) I don't think anybody covers "Hot Burrito No. 1" with the intensity of Raul Malo. He recorded an acoustic version, but the one I'm familiar was live on "Return to Sin City: A Tribute to Gram Parsons:" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y2fV-vCQ5I0

On Rockwiz they ask contestants “What was the first album you bought with your own money?” and “What was the first concert you attended?” Brian, would you like to answer the Rockwiz question?

…also country is huge in Australia and has a thriving local scene. Kasey Chambers has done very well but Slim Dusty (A Pub With No Beer), Lee Kernaghan, Keith Urban, etc etc all have mass audiences outside the country faithful over a long period. Not my area of interest really but I can understand that Country music from outside the USA would be of minor interst within the USA, coal to Newcastle and all that.
