Happy St. Patrick’s Day, everyone. Let’s celebrate by raising a pint of your favorite stout, and listening to some songs covered by Irish musicians (as well as some that sound like they’re performed by Irish musicians).

Probably because Whiskey in the Jar isn't and shouldn't be considered a cover. It's a traditional song. One probably almost never knows the origin of a traditional song, therefore one can't really pin the author on anyone.
I’m confused! Kate Nash (born in London with a very Cockney voice) doing a Cribs cover (a band from West Yorkshire in the North of England). Where’s the Irish connection? PS really loved the middle three songs
Weird. AllMusic saus that kate Nash was born in Dublin, and then moved to Harrow North London, where she grew up. But I see what you mean – her Wikipedia page says London. Her official website doesn't have a bio page, so is there anyone out there that can clear this up?
Loving that Luka Bloom cover of Wishing on a Star. You should do a Who Did It Better show pitting that cover against the Fresh 4 version I sent you a few years ago. =^)
This has to be a Coverville first. I request via telepathy. The Hothouse Flowers song had come up on my iPod and I thought I should request this for Coverville, and a few days later. I heard it there. Spooky and Amazing all at the same time. Ok, I'm sending my next request now . . . . . . . . . . Get it?
No version of Whiskey in The Jar? Or a Thin Lizzy Cover? For shame Brian, for shame!
