Tinshaker is right. I don't own the Definitive collection, having already all the original JJ Cale albums, and I can tell you that the version of After Midnight on the album from which it originated (Naturally) is waaaaay different from the version you played on Coverville. Your version sounded like it was from vinyl....
Loved the D&B version of Superstar -- they redeemed for me a good song that I didn't care for excessively as done by Carpenters or Sonic Youth.

Brian, I own that JJ Cale album, and I have to state, that that is NOT the version of After Midnight on the CD. The album version is more low key and slower, much more "chill." Also, there are no horns. I don't know where the version you played is from, but it is not the 'original' recording. Maybe a demo?

I'm a massive Oldfield fan, so I always like to hear the original - I've never cared much for the Hall and Oates version, especially the plot turn it takes - but hey.

I've had the original version of No More I Love Yous for some time as well and so am glad to have it here on the same show as an Oldfield.

Thanks, Brian!

What's good about Eric Clapton is that he always pays his due :
Me and Mr Johnson (for robert johnson)
Road to Escandido (jj cale)
Riding with king (bb king)
slogans (bob marley)
concert for George (g harrisson)
