I can't believe that you missed this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UYAFDqS9Izg
An indie artist named Josh Woodward does a pretty amusing spoof of Justin Timberlake covering The White Stripes, in his song "Sexy Nation Army": http://www.joshwoodward.com/music/ Free download!
You don't say. I'll have to check that out.
Hey, and whaddaya know, you actually went and included it in the podcast! Not sure how you managed to integrate it into the show after seeing the post on here beforehand…but cool! Way to go!
Er…you do know that is was in there the whole time, right?
Um..no. 😛 Colour me red! I assumed by your original comment that you weren't aware of the song until last Wednesday, after this episode was already done and posted.
It cracked me up because I even talked about how it was a free download from his site in the show, so I thought you were joking with me. Until your first comment this morning, that is.
Heh. Nope. I wasn't joking. I'm just a week behind on my podcasts and finally got around to listening to it today…and I don't visit the web site to see the show notes nearly as often as I should. 😛
I guess the lesson here is great minds think alike on indie music! ^_^
I guess that's what I get for not reading the show notes thoroughly and picking up on any implied sarcasm in the first comment… o_O Carry on!
Vanilla Fudge! I have three of their albums (on vinyl) – I should have known…
Where is the james eric version of "sexyback?" it's the best: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pj24yzxuduE
I actually had that in the original playlist, but decided that the Corinne Bailey Rae and Josh Woodward versions were a little more out of the norm. Look for the James Eric version (which I also really like, FWIW) on a future show, though!
I was a good guy and listened to the whole thing just like you suggested, but that was the most painful Coverville I've ever listened to. Still, you do a great job and I love the show (except for this one). What drugs were you on, Brian?
