I've been listening to this episode repeatedly for the last month or so, and I would have to vote for this as the best episode of Coverville ever. Weather With You from King Singers will have to have a spot on next year's countdown.

Brian – brilliant show. I first discovered Coverville when a friend pointed me to your Paul Hester episode, after his death. And this one was just as good – and I'll no doubt listen many times.
Just a note for future – Corroboree is pronounced k-ROBbery (like "robbery" with a K sound at the front)

All the Crowded House covers on this were absolutely fantastic and reminded me again of what brilliant songwriters they are. I first came across them in the late 80's via a Cassette that a buddy of mine was raving about (their 1986 first album). It was great to hear that Beatles cover, especially as, to my ears, Crowded House have recorded so much Beatles influenced music over the years, especially Woodface.

One thing I did notice from this, was that there were no covers from the album "Together Alone", and there are some fantastic songs on that album, so, as others have said, part 2 would be good. Or maybe this could be the first Coverville extra tracks!!

Oh, and Tenor47, yes it was Twist and Shout, in the Parade scene, where Ferris jumps on the parade float and lip syncs to the Beatles version, because of course that was a cover of the Top Notes, then the Isley brothers.

It shows the quality of the songs when the more stripped down covers work best I think. A great choice for a cover story.

The Crowdies used to drop random improvised covers into the middle of the extended versions of Sister Madly they did live and on the fanclub CDs they put a few of these like Anarchy in the UK and the Mighty Quinn. They also used to do Born on the Bayou with Mark Hart ripping out the vocal. (A lot of these are on the fanclub release "Homebrew.")

The only formally released Crowdies cover I can think of apart from Throw Your Arms Around Me is a cover of the Zombies She's Not There on the soundtrack of the Film "The Crossing."

Neil also covered I Can See Clearly Now as a charity release for the Fred Hollows Foundation, which goes to Third World countries and does cataract operations to restore sight to the blind.

Lots of fodder for FINN2 in the future.
