All good Van stuff but what about the new ‘official’ album due out on October 2, 2012. Let’s all buy 10 copies and give Van a global Number 1 album. Let’s not steal this music, let’s buy it.
About that “Comfortably Numb” track… It’s from the July 21, 1990 concert performed by Roger Waters and many, many guest artists at the Berlin Wall in Germany, shortly before the wall was taken down. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Wall_%E2%80%93_Live_in_Berlin
I wish I could have been there, but I have it on DVD. I think I’ll watch that one again now…
@Lonnie – absolutely right. With Rick Danko and Levon Helm.
This wasn’t mentioned on the show, but (in addition to The Departed) this version was also featured prominently on The Sopranos.
Another excellent version of Into The Mystic was done by Colin James, on the 2005 album Limelight.
