Thank You for this, Brian!
I have to admit that I find it a bit sad that there was no competition with the countdown this year and no Hall-of-Fame-episode, but hey, all these fantastic covers still make my day.
I wish you and your family a great 2013!
As a update Brian, the song “This Must Be The Place (Naive Melody)” by Miles Fischer can be found iTunes. There is a link from his page http://milesfisher.com/music.html to to iTunes for that song.
Excellent! Updating now!
Actually, you can get the mp3 for free directly from http://milesfisher.com/music.html along with a couple of other songs including the great tune “Don’t Let Go”
That Gypsy Kings cover is still brilliant.
Looks as though there was a secret hall of fame show as Kate Rusby has disappeared completely, along with Eva Cassidy (Fields of Gold), Peter Gabriel (Book of love), Ben Folds (Bitches Ain’t Shit) and anything by Pomplamoose. Great to hear some new stuff though, but any time you plan to play that Ricky Lee Jones cover of Sympathy For The Devil, can you give a lot of warning?! 🙂
No secret hall of fame show at all! It was part of episode 920: http://www.coverville.com/archives/podcast/coverville-920-your-cover-requests-couldnt-be-much-more-from-the-heart/
(since there were only two new entries into the HoF this year, I lumped them into another show)
weird; I did listen to show 920 of course, but must have missed some of the comments!
Best countdown in years! I’ve loved that Miles Fisher cover since ~2009 but had never seen the video. Wow. Just… wow. Thanks for recommending it.
I am so astoundingly grateful William Shatner didn’t make it into this year’s countdown. His Ordinary People is amazing, but the whole Major Tom thing is reason enough to send him off to Siberia.
If I’m mistaken, I remember you saying that Taylor Johnson is Scott Johnson’s daughter? You need to get them to release a copy of that song we can purchase. She sings so beautifully, and I’d love a copy for myself.
