I just listened to the excellent “Cheap Trick” cover story, and needed to correct one thing you talked about.
Jack White did a duet (called “Portland, Oregon”) with Loretta Lynn on the outstanding “Van Lear Rose” CD, which he also produced. The album and song each won Grammys.
Please play some White Stripes covers (“Jolene”, “Death Letter”, for example) and covers of White Stripes songs (like Hard-Fi’s version of “Seven Nation Army”).
Show frequency is great. 2-3 per week. Just do them when you can. They are appreciated whenever they come out.
There is a great cover of “In a manner of speaking” that they play on the radio in Europe, the original is off the Counterfeit [EP] ~ Martin L. Gore 1989
Nouvelle Vague does a great cover version of it off self titled album. She also does a version of “melt with you” that I kind of like.
There’s another version of it on the album Holy Wars
by Tuxedomoon, but I never heard it before.
Quantity is not quality.
Brian, keep making the greats programs always that is possible and we will appreciate like ever, doesn´t matter if will be less episodes.

Great show.
I love three times a week, but twice a week is OK. I never miss a show.
Steve
Good Show. 2-3 times is pleaty. I can’t beleive someone somewhere hasn’t offered you a fulltime gig doing coverville for money. Maybe someday.
Brian,
I like getting 3 shows a week, but I’d rather get two quality shows than have you run yourself ragged!
One suggestion. If time is a factor, maybe do two shows but make them each a song or two longer. I would think two slightly longer shows would be less work than three shows.
Keep up the great work!
Sharon
Off topic but interesting: NPR reviewed the cover version of Rubber Soul, “This Bird has Flown”.
The is a major event in the field of Coverology,
like it or not.
NPR had a generally favorable review, but maintained a bemused “Is this project really necessary?” attitude throughout. (I haven’t heard the album yet, just the snippets included in the podcast.) They noted the obvious gender-transformations and genre-shifts.
Reviewers on Amazon single out Ben Harper for turning “Michelle” into a reggae song “with disastrous results”. In a nice turn of phrase, NPR said “Rhett Miller chose to color within the lines on “Girl”.
I’d wouldn’t be at all opposed to two shows a week, w/ Tuesday’s indie show being scrapped. I’m all for showcasing new talent, but think that the Tuesday show’s selections are often significantly less enjoyable than Sunday or Thursday’s.
