Brian, could you kindly summarize for us the advantages of the AAC feed? I promptly switched to it, from the basic MP3 feed, and so far the principal difference seems to be the artwork shuffling during each track — and the larger file size! What are the other benefits from the listener’s perspective?
That Doors cover was great, nice change in style, just what Coverville is all about!
I’m probably courting controversy here, but I’d say that ANY Celine Dion, covered or not, belongs in a world that I’d choose not to live in!
Oh, and I don’t think Tina sounds like that other lady!
On the AAC feed, Brian can give a fuller explanation I’m sure, but the other key difference is the ability to skip back and forward between tracks on the i-pod and to go to a “chapter” menu that appears in i-tunes when an advanced AAC broadcast appears. this allows you again to select an individual track for listening again.
Funny thing happened today – as soon as I finished with Coverville, I switched over to my Indiefeed podcast (Electronica) where Rebecca, the lead singer from a band called “Halou” introed the show. Now SHE sounds like Tina! I was really confused for a second. Check it out and see for yourselves: http://blindingflashes.blogs.com/indiefeed_electronica_dan/2007/03/halou_everythin.html (click the play link and you should hear it)
Wow, I totally dig the Dancing with myself cover. Had to go back and re-listen 🙂 This one has a couple really good covers in it. Thanks for the show!
Hi Brian
Thank you so much for playing Accidentally 4th St. (Gloria) by Figures On A Beach. That bought back so many memories of my 9th/10th grade year of school. I missed a tiny bit of the intro and originally thought it was a cover but went back and realized it wasn’t. If it were, I’d of gone looking for an original. Thanks so much for playing this song. I am sending my friends that I think of most when I hear this song a link to Coverville too.
