I must admit, I sometimes skip listening to the Musically Challenged, but Thomas had me hooked for this one. I LOVED hearing the french rap, and I must admit I really did think Claude François was the original artist to release that song. Woops!
What did you think of Eddie Vedder’s cover of the Split Enz song from the Neil Finn “Seven Worlds Collide” live album?
Thanks for playing my request. I’m not a big fan of The Darkness, and I sometimes get a little tired of bands trying to change the “tone” of a song, but I thought this one worked really really well.
(In a similar style, the cover of “Too Drunk To Fuck” by The Dead Kennedys performed by Nouvelle Vague from the GRINDHOUSE – PLANET TERROR soundtrack is absolutely fantastic. )
Here’s something else that might interest folks around here. An article from THE ONION AV CLUB listing 10 SURPRISINGLY GOOD TRIBUTE ALBUMS:

A very entertaining list, and lots of good covers for people who are interested.
Cheers!
LOVED the Darkness cover. I must find! Thanks for a great show!
Oh and “I’ve in Love With a German Film Star”? Brilliant!
The Neil Young cover was awesome. Honestly, can Dolly do anything wrong?!
Oh and Linda Ronstadt did backing vocals on some of the “Harvest Moon” album from 1992, along with James Taylor.
Now you need to play some of Emmylou Harris’ other excellent covers. Get her “Wrecking Ball” album for the Neil Young title song cover (w/ Neil on backing vocals) & Hendrix’s “May This Be Love,” and others.
