The musical history of the UK Britpop band Squeeze – tonight’s “cover story”:
“Take Me I’m Yours” – White Rabbit (originally Squeeze)
“Another Nail For My Heart” – Rubber (originally Squeeze)
“Tempted” – Jools Holland & His Rhythm and Blues Orchestra (originally Squeeze)
“Up The Junction” – Goldfinger (originally Squeeze)
“Labelled With Love (I’ll Stay With My Dreams)” – Kevin Rowland (originally Squeeze)
“End Of A Century (live)” – Glenn Tillbrook and Chris Difford (originally Blur)
“Red Light” – Squeeze (originally Merrill Moore)
I dig the Squeeze theme!
I recall you did another Jools Holland cover of “Come On Eileen” on an earlier show and I liked it, but I loved this one. Will have to see what else I can dig up on this band.
Thanks for another great Coverville, as always, I’ll keep listening!
Just ordered one of Jools CDs at Amazon. Thanks again Brian!
Brian:
Thanks for the Squeeze on my Saturday Afternoon – well done.
You may have heard Bari Koral’s version of “Midnight Train to Georgia” on Adam Curry’s show – can I request it for your all request show?
You can find it via http://www.barikoral.com/ as one of the sample downloads.
Thanks. Howard
Nice to see Squeeze getting some attention, nice load of songs!
Can I suggest a track for your next request show? I recently heard a fantastic cover of ‘Seven Nation Army’ (originally by The White Stripes), by a band called Nostalgia 77 and I’m sure your listeners would enjoy it as much as I have, if you can get hold of a copy.
This show was even more excellent than usual. I don’t know how you do it, but please don’t stop! Coverville is top notch.
Wow, the show is great every week but this edition was simply wonderful!
Thanks a lot from da Lowlands!
