I don't like Celin Dion or AC/DC, and the combination sounded dreadful, but on listening to it, it isn't that bad. Here's bad: The Bee Gees singing Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band, Bryan Ferry – She's leaving home, David Essex singing Yesterday.
I can see why the meatheads who read that magazine might be soooo offended by Celine Dion's take on that song. But it isn't THAT bad in my opinion. As you say, Kevin Rowland set the bar. But I think the top 5 best covers is a bit strange – no "Baby Got Back" by Jonathan Coulton or "Hurt" by Johnny Cash. My personal favourite for the past year or so is Dolly Parton's cover of "Peace Train". And then there was Jerry Lee Lewis with his cover of "Rock and Roll" – sorry Led Zeppelin fans – he OWNS that song now!
When you stir the pot, do you prefer a wooden or slotted spoon, Wayne? 🙂
Okay, the Celine Dion thing is annoying, but these are far from the worst covers ever. Have they never heard of Mrs. Miler? The two albums of Bill Cosby singing? The Golden Throats collection? Paul Anka's rock album? Please.
What about Dolly's cover of Stairway To Heaven?
