(Warning – some NSFW lyrics) A band that helped move punk into the mainstream in the early 90s. And a band that has successfully revitalized the concept album, with “American Idiot”. Add to that a new Broadway musical based on their music, and a version of the popular Rock Band video game franchise on the way as well. Ripe pickings for a cover story, I say.

I don't know if you were aware, but the lead singer of Florence + The Machine did a cover of the Green Day album "Nimrod"
Here's a link! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Florence_and_the_Mac…
I think this was one of my favorite episodes in a long time. Glen Campbell and Eddie Money covering Green Day? Wonderful! Green Day's FANTASTIC cover of Dylan? Kudos, Brian!!!!
Is the Deathray Davies "Pulling Teeth" really a cover of Green Day? I liked it so much I checked out the Green Day song and, while awesome, it didn't share any elements with the first one other than overall punk-ness. Just wondering. Yeah, though, really amazing episode.
Chiming in late because I'm catching up, and echoing Emma: "Pulling Teeth" is my favorite Green Day song, and I'm afraid the only thing the Deathray Davies track had in common was the name.
Frustrating. I was using AllMusic (which I trust more than Wikipedia, SecondHandSongs and CoversProject) to locate a cover of Pulling Teeth, and found this: http://www.allmusic.com/cg/amg.dll?p=amg&sql=….
Gavin & Emma – thanks for letting me know. I'll leave it in the show, but I'll fix the shownotes on the site.
I think this was one of my most loved scenes in quite a while. Glen Campbell and Eddie Money covering Green Day? Brilliant! Green Day’s FANTASTIC front of Dylan? Praise, Brian!!!!
