A pre-birthday tribute to the most commercially successful of the former fab four, Sir Paul McCartney. A strong focus in tonight’s show on his earlier albums, and some of those great hits and deeper cuts that came from them.

I heard an interview with Bettye Lavette about this album. I love her other stuff and her voice is beyond amazing. Still, I admit having my doubts about this album. Frankly, most tribute albums fall flat and greatly disappoint. Not this one — Incredible! She makes each song a Bettye Lavette song.
Great show, Brian! But you could have colored me surprised when all of a sudden in the middle of PHP programming today I hear "We've done our version of Junior's Farm-a" and Galactic Cowboys guitarist Wally Farkas' best Yoko Ono impression! GC is one of my favorite bands, and never in a million years would I have thought that you would play them on Coverville (although the only other cover I can think of that they've done on a studio album is KISS's "I Want You" from the same "Feel the Rage" EP).
Thanks again for such a great podcast!
Really enjoyed this show, Brian. Huge McCartney fan here. Never knew there were "Junior's Farm" or "This One" covers out there. They were awesome. Thanks!
OK, you've done it again Brian – this was a FANTASTIC show, right up there in the top 10 best Coverville's. Paul is such a talented guy and you're right – so great right after the Beatles and I am sure he didn't get the full credit he deserved.
Take a week off to celebrate such a great show :-)!!
