The Purple Rain cover would have been so much better if they didn't let that one guy sing who sounded like the love child of Bob Dylan and Gilbert Gottfried.
Ouch! The vocalist on Purple Rain is Ricky Barnes, the lead singer of a country band The Hootowls back in the day in Columbus. He has a great voice, but it does not always come across on some recorded songs. The OKRA All-Stars were composed of various members of bands that recorded for Okra Records in the '80s. Members included Jeb Loy Nichols, Dave Schramm, Hank McCoy and Ricky Barnes.
