Tonight I’m featuring music from my sponsor, Skipping Discs: A covers-only record label! How perfect! Here’s what’s on tap for tonight:
“Lucy in the Sky” – Allen Wentz (originally The Beatles)
“Tear Off Your Own Head (It’s a Doll Revolution)” – The Bangles (originally Elvis Costello)
“Breaking Us In Two” – Whitney McCray (originally Joe Jackson)
“Modern Love” – Astrid Young (originally David Bowie)
“People Are Strange” – Wendy Ip (originally The Doors)
“Night Fever” – The Blackfoot Brothers (originally The Bee Gees)

Hillbilly disco! Yee-hah! Play some more of that!
Allen Wentz – the former bass player for Wild Cherry. Also heard on The Daily Source Code last week. Sounds like he’s making the rounds through the podcasts.
Didn’t like that one at all Brian – “No sir, I don’t like it.” The shifting tempos, the song, it all seemed too cheesey. Didn’t feel like it “fit” your show at all, which is a rare thing.
Loved the rest – especially The Bangles.

From your Neil Young fan. Show 73 Astrid Young sang Modern Love. I liked it and by the way:
Neil Young’s half sister. The site covers her career including music, film, wine,
and writing.

Good as always, Brian. But if I may, I’d like to request a song for the all request Sunday show – The Boys of Summer by the Ataris (Originally done by Don Henley). Great cover.
Oh, in the car yesterday, my dad told me that he’d been talking to you about Coverville, ways to make it better, and the likes. harmon@mac.com? He’s my dad.
Brian,
This could be my favorite Coverville ever – and I’ve listened to EVERY single one. But, I have to agree with previous comment regarding former funky music guy doing Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds…I didn’t like it that much. Loved the Elvis Costell, Joe Jackson, Doors and Bowie covers.
BTW- the new mic sounds great. Thanks for the show.
