Brian – I own that All This and World War II album! Is weird, for sure.

As an Englishman of the same age as Brian and also a massive Lynne fan, I can’t tell you how much i enjoyed this. it was absolutely brilliant -thanks Brian. Particularly enjoyed the fact that this show contained a few covers from the Out Of The Blue album, their magnum opus in my opinion – still hoping that one day Brian will do a cover album show of that album.
Just a slight correction. The new greatest hits re- recording set also featured Richard Tandy I believe; well, at least he was featured in the recent BBC documentary. I love Jeff, but that new album appears to be a pointless exercise as Jeff and Richard have recorded again every single note in the same way, just with better equipment.
Looking forward already to part 3. Long live Jeff.
Hey, I’m not finished with the episode, but so far it’s awesome. While I was listening to Don’t Bring Me Down I looked up “groosss”.
According to http://www.jefflynnesongs.com/dontbringmedown/, “groosss” was a made up word on the spot. Since he was recording in Munich, his engineer laughed because he heard Jeff say “greeting” even though it was gibberish.
I really enjoyed this episode. ELO and Jeff Lynne music is some of my favorite. The covers were awesome.
Thanks for the show!
Brian, you usually do a great job of choosing covers that compliment each other and don’t feel out of place in the lineup, but this time, you did a masterful job! I truly appreciate the effort that you put into the show. Thanks for all you do!
