Don’t touch that dial! (Unless you’re turning up the volume) Tonight’s show brings you cover versions of songs made popular by television. Joan Jett and the Blackhearts, Rancid, The Ramones, Better Than Ezra, Orbital, Voice of the Beehive and Rex Daisy.
Also, send me the name of what you feel is the best cover – it could be one I’ve played on my show or not – and I’ll amass the 2004 Coverville Countdown for the final shows of the year where I’ll tally up your votes and play the best covers of the year. Email me at brian at coverville.com, call me on my voice mail at 314-248-9957, or post a message on this or any entry.
Excellent covers. Especially the Welcome Back Kotter cover. It’s a classic tune and the rendition was cool. Who did that again?
I’m a new listener, and definitely a new fan of Coverville. Keep up the good work!
suggestion for the Countdown: the cover of the rolling stones’ bitch done by the goo goo dolls (w/ lance diamond) on the No Alternative compilation. even punchier than the stones’ version, and the horns are *perfect*.
highly recommended.
Great show. I set it as my alarm in the morning and it was really fun to wake up to the cover of the Gilligan’s Island theme. 🙂
