Results of last week’s battle: Who did it better? Georgia Satellites or Field Music?

Back from a month of Beatles and a weekend of DragonCon, we’re here with a new Who Did It Better, pitting two versions of “papa Was A Rolling Stone” against one another. The song is most often attributed to The Temptations, but was first recorded by The Undisputed Truth in 1971. In any case, it’s a great song, and with last Friday being the 3rd of September, I felt a little inspired. And though you may be tempted to put the Temptations in the “Other” field in your vote, let’s consider their version the undefeatable best cover of the song.

“Papa Was A Rolling Stone” – Undisputed Truth (Papa)
“Papa Was A Rolling Stone” – Temptations (Papa)
“Papa Was A Rolling Stone” – David Lindley & El Rayo-X (Papa)
“Papa Was A Rolling Stone” – Andrew Rothman (Coverville Idol 1973)

Mama, I’m depending on you, to tell me who did it better?
