Great show as ever (Beth Orton was great).
But I demand that Thomas takes back the comments re: “Buster” starring Phil Collins, as a gross injustice has occured!!
The movie was very successful here and was nominated for an Oscar for the music and won a Golden Globe and a Grammy Award, again for the music, plus 2 other awards. Two singles from the soundtrack topped the Billboard top 100.
Ok, the awards and main success was for the songs (including a cover (“Groovy kind of love”)), but the movie itself was a real hit, and Phil did really well in the role. He has “form” as an actor from his school days (as the Artful Dodger).
while the US box office figures are low ($500,000), I bet if you lookedb at the global sales including video’s, the success would be much much better. The movie was doomed in the USA and I imagine released only becuause of the soundtrack, because the history and interest in the robbery was in the UK.
