HA! I knew that song in the Prius commercial was a cover song! My kids love that commercial, where everything is a person.
As far as Love Vigilantes I think the interpretation depends on the version (another reason covers are so great). In the original by New Order it seemed obvious that it was just a letter sent by mistake. In the Hungry Lucy version it was equally obvious that the dude was a ghost (and the first time I even serious considered that option). I think the Iron and Wine is somewhere in between the two.
