  1. “She’s Leaving Home” is the BD Beatles cut that grabs me the hardest.

I will not mention that at least three of the Benzedrine Monks were also members of BD.

  2. Two of mine made it as well!

Though I still regret not having nominated Eva Cassidy’s “Fields of Gold” this year; I can only assume that everybody else also assumed it wasn’t necessary because somebody else would.

  3. So, I’m performing my daily antejentacular perambulation, listening to my favorite podcast, and I heard Rickie Lee Jones’ “Sympathy for the Devil”. It is indeed fortunate that there were not more pedestrians around at that hour, as I’m sure I would have throat-punched the first person I saw. Tell me again how you’re not taking advantage of Colorado’s new lax reefer laws and that this did not affect your decision to include this version over Opie Gone Bad’s.

    Happy Holidays, Peace, and Love.

  4. Hey Brain,

Love the count down so far and almost everything include in it but I absolutely hate hate hate the Rickie Lee Jones cover of Sympathy for the Devil. It’s way too self indulgent. I’m not sure how this could have made the list as a top 50 cover for 2012.

Love the show … every episode!

    • I was surprised also to see the Rickie Lee Jones track get as many votes as it did. I think more people voted for it based on the song she was covering. The fact that the song is really new, and hasn’t been played on Coverville, might suggest that.

I prefer Opie Gone Bad’s version myself – but I’ve gotta stay true to the nominations and the votes of the listening audience!

  5. Brian, if you like/are interested in artists who use loop machines, you might want to keep your eyes out for an artist who’s pretty local to you (if I’m remembering right that you’re in the general Denver area). He goes by Mister Tim, and I saw him perform a couple of years ago in Boulder.
